A SUPERMARKET will hold dementia friendly shopping days.
Slow Shopping will be available at Haslingden Co-op today and on Friday between 2pm and 3pm.
Staff will be available to welcome customers into the store, help them navigate the store to do their shopping, support with payment, packing, taking shopping to the car or booking a taxi.
Calm, appropriate music will also be played throughout the store.
Haslingden Coop have been working to become dementia friendly over the last 12 months.
The store have implemented a number of changes including changing the colour entrance mat from black to blue, installing a bench at the front of the store for rest and encourage conversation, dementia awareness training for all staff and a store map available at the entrance to help people navigate.
