AN MP has backed Government plans to ban microbeads.
Microbeads are tiny pieces of plastic that are added to cosmetic products such as face wash, toothpaste and abrasive cleaners.
They are then washed down the sink with where they end up in the sea where they can be ingested by marine life.
It was announced last week that a law banning the inclusion of microbeads in products that get washed down drains will come into effect on January 9.
Mr Berry said: "Parliament approved a ban on microbeads from the 9th January.
"This is something that many of my constituents across Rossendale and Darwen have contacted me about.
"I'm pleased that this Conservative Government is leading the way in protecting our oceans and marine life for future generations."
