A FOOD redistribution charity is looking for new volunteers to help feed people in need this winter.
FareShare Lancashire and Cumbria, launching its 10th food collection, takes surplus food from the food and drink industry and delivers it to local charities, with the help of volunteers.
The charity is seeking hundreds of ‘Santa’s Little Helpers’ to volunteer for a three hour shift at Tesco and encourage shoppers to donate one or two long-life items in store such as packets of pasta, rice, tea and tins of tomatoes.
It will take place at Tescos around East Lancashire, including Burnley Extra, Accrington Extra, Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Padiham from November 30 to December 2.
