A NEO-POST-PUNK band took a detour from their European tour to play in East Lancashire.

Cabbage, who are based in Manchester, enjoyed a string of summer festival appearances in 2017 and took a detour from their European tour to play at Cafe Artisan, on Brook Street, Rawtenstall.

Cabbage worked with Rossendale Momentum and Labour to engage with Rossendale and Darwen constituents ahead of a crucial meeting to select their next Labour parliamentary candidate on Thursday.

Rossendale Momentum representative Graeme Watson said: "Cabbage are big supporters of Jeremy Corbyn and Momentum’s aims.

"It was great to have them there to support our push to get a pro-Corbyn Labour candidate for Rossendale and Darwen.

"It’s crucial that we get Corbyn-supporting people on the committee so it would be fantastic to see new people turning up to do their bit to support Jeremy on Thursday.

"Join the Labour Party today and you get this one off chance to vote for this key committee."

The meeting will take place at the Loveclough Working Mens Club, on Commercial Street, Loveclough, Rossendale on Thursday.

Doors will open at 7.15pm with the meeting scheduled to start at 7.45pm.
