A VOLUNTEER group is set to receive a prestigious award later this year.
Civic Pride Rossendale, which organises litter picks in Rawtenstall, will be officially presented by The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service by The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, The Lord Shuttleworth KG KCVO.
The honour is awarded to groups of volunteers who work in their local community for the benefit of others.
Each of the groups will receive a certificate signed by The Queen and an exclusive commemorative crystal, presented by Lord Shuttleworth.
In total, five community groups in Lancashire have won the award.
The award ceremony will be held on September 27 at County Hall in Preston.
