WHITWORTH Community High School in Rossendale will be closed today due to a burst water pipe.
The school in Hall Fold, Whitworth, announced this morning that it will be shut to all pupils, but that the planned parents evening after school is still scheduled to go ahead.
A spokesman for the school said: “The school is closed to all students today due to a burst water main.
“Year nine parents evening is still on tonight unless you receive a further text.”
Meanwhile St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School in Whitworth has also closed for the morning due to a burst water pipe.
A spokesman for the school said that they hope to open this afternoon but they first need to speak to United Utilities.
Parents will be kept update by the school’s text service.
