TWO men were arrested after a delivery driver was dragged from his van and robbed in Bacup.

Police said the robbery happened in Blackthorn Lane at noon yesterday and thieves drove off with the white Ford Transit parcel van.

The van was found abandoned nearby and two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Police said a number of parcels were found at a house in Bacup.

A 29-year-old from Bacup and a 26-year-old of no fixed address, were arrested yesterday. They remain in custody today.

No weapons were used in the robbery and police could not confirm if any parcels had been taken.

The 40-year-old driver of the van was said to be shaken but not seriously hurt.

A police spokesman said the investigation is at an early stage. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 502 of November 13.
