A MOTHER and daughter escaped from their home following a fire in the early hours of this morning.
The pair left North View, Rawtenstall, at 1.20am and alerted emergency services.
Two crews from the town’s fire station attended the scene following the downstairs fire.

Crew manager Steve Marley said: “We attended the house and the mum and daughter had escaped prior to our arrival.
“Extinguishers and fans were used to clear the smoke. The house had no smoke detectors and because of that they were lucky to escape.”
