A TRIAL date has been set for arson and grievous bodily harm allegations involving three men from Rossendale.

Eamon Roche, 26, of Spring Terrace, Stacksteads, and Andrew Roche, 23, of Rostron Buildings, Rawtenstall, are each accused of attempting to enter a property in Branch Street, Bacup, as a trespasser with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

The two brothers are also charged with attempting to unlawfully inflict grievous bodily harm on Dave Ashworth by setting fire to a Ford Focus.

Christopher Melody, 22, of Newchurch Road, Bacup, has also been charged, in related matters, with an arson attack on a Ford Focus, and using threatening words or behaviour, on a different date.

No pleas were entered by the trio but a provisional trial date of March 7 next year was identified by Judge Jonathan Gibson.

Eamon and Andrew Roche, and Melody, were remanded on bail, on condition they do not approach prosecution witnesses or enter Bury Road, Haslingden, Derby Street, Accrington, or Branch Road, Bacup.
