FEARNS Community Sports College in Bacup has announced that pupils will wear a new uniform from September.
After a ballot among the students they will wear a black blazer and jumper from the start of the new academic year.
The change replaces the maroon jumpers that the students currently wear.
A full uniform list has been published on the school's website detailing what boys and girls should wear once the new rules are introduced.
The new uniforms, which include the school's logo, will only be worn by years seven to 10.
A spokesman said: "After much deliberation, pupils were balloted and have voted to wear a black blazer and jumper from September.
"We all agree that it's very smart."
The school has also reminded students that denim, Ugg-style boots and trainers are banned.
