AN ATTEMPTED murder hearing has seen two men pleading not guilty to a new charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Jonathan Wrigley, 34, of Todmorden Road, Bacup, is accused of the attempted murder of Jamie Mulcahy and an alternative charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to the same man. Wrigley and Curtis Munro, 21, of Queen’s Park Road, Heywood, have also now denied an offence of attempting to pervert the course of justice by allegedly deleting CCTV footage of an incident in Bacup town centre last year, which may have formed part of a police investigation.
The full trial, before Mr Justice Holgate at Preston Crown Court, is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Wrigley and Munro have been remanded in custody previously.
