WHEN Rossendale worker Heather Abela dropped off her partner’s suits for dry cleaning early last week, she didn’t expect a comical misunderstanding which led to her blazing a trail for the blazers.
Ms Abela of Viva PR didn’t get chance to collect the items by Friday and when she returned on Monday, the shop on Burnley Road was shut and empty.

She said: “There was nothing there, nothing on the counter and no note or sign, nothing to say ‘hey, you won’t be naked forever’.”
With help from nearby business owner, Jon Edmondson of Radiant Physiotherapy, the Lancashire Telegraph managed to track down owner Jacqueline Clarke.
Ms Clarke explained she had spent Monday moving the shop’s premises to Exchange House at the Kingfisher Business Centre, and had not yet had chance to ring around customers. She has now put up a notice in the former site’s window.

She said: “It had been a manic few days over the weekend setting up the new premises and I didn’t want to put up a formal sign at the old site until I’d definitely moved and. I am very sorry for the misunderstanding.”
Ms Abela said: “I’m delighted the blazers have been found, it has been quite a funny experience and I’m glad it’s all worked out well in the end.”
