AN 85-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was left with serious leg injuries following an incident in Shawforth last August.
Vincent Simpson, 85, of Pendeen, Penzance, is due to appear at Burnley Magistrates Court on Tuesday 2 June.

Police were called by the ambulance service shortly after 10am on Wednesday, August 27 to reports that an 81-year-old man had been hit by a car near garages on Old Lane and had received serious leg injuries.
The man, from Shawforth, was taken by ambulance for treatment at the Salford Royal Hospital.
He has since had to have his leg amputated.
