A DRIVER escaped unharmed after his car overturned on a Rossendale street.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision in Church Street, Newchurch, at around 1.10pm on Saturday.

Fire crews from Rawtenstall and Bacup attended in order to make the scene safe.

Steve Morley, crew manager at Rawtenstall fire station, said: “The person wasn’t trapped.

“We were asked to attend by the police and ambulance service but we were stood down as the man got out himself.

“The vehicle overturned and blocked the road for a while but I don’t believe there were any serious injuries.”
