A MAN was knocked over by a car in Haslingden which then failed to stop.

Police have appealed for witnesses after the 26-year-old was hit while walking down Pleasant Street towards Higher Deardengate at around 8pm on Saturday, January 31.

He was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a car believed to be either a white or silver Ford Kuga or Mitsubishi Outlander.

Police said it drove off towards the Manchester Road junction.

The man sustained injuries to his head, neck and back and was taken for treatment at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

PC Mark Darlington, of the East Road Policing Unit, said: “I would urge anyone who witnessed the accident to contact us.”
