SOME of the best local musical talent was showcased at The Fest in Edgeside Park.
Opera singer Sean Ruane and Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate for Rossendale, Will Straw, were just two of hundreds of visitors to the event.
The Fest, organised by youth scheme the White Horse Project, returned to Edgeside Park for the second year after securing cash from Youth Music Power Play, Newground Together and United Utilities.
Mr Straw said: “The Reverend Rod Bevan and his team put together a fantastic festival which showcased some of the best music talent in the area while giving young people a great opportunity to use their technical talents with sound, lighting and making videos.
“There was something for everyone “The White Horse project continues to go from strength to strength thanks to all the dedicated members of the community who give their time to volunteer."
Other acts will included covers groups A Few Good Men and headliners The Catch, alongside the winners of the White Horse Project’s contest The Talent 2013, and schools including St Anne’s Primary School.
