FIRE crews were called to a fuel recycling depot after residents reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of the unit.
Seven fire appliances attended the huge blaze at Wheeldon Brothers, in Kenyon Street, Ramsbottom, after getting the call at around 2.40am.
A 60 metre by 40 metre section of the building was described as ‘well alight’ by a spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire was extinguished earlier this morning but crews remain on scene making sure the site is safe.
As a result of the blaze and the smoke Bridge Street, in Ramsbottom, is currently closed.
