THOUSANDS of homes in the Ribble Valley were left without electricity after a power cut.

United Utilities bosses say most of the 2,000 homes affected should now be reconnected after they were cut off for just over an hour at 1.20am this morning.

But 200 houses in the Whalley area are still without power as engineers work to fix the power station fault that sparked the problem.

A company spokesman said it was a "difficult" problem to fix and work could stretch into this afternoon.

The fault wouldn't have anything to do with all the holes and exposed cable around Billington and Whalley? Or is this just in case there is a fault?

Barry, you can't spout about the Ribble Valley being a dump when you live in Mill Hill. I've lived here 27 years in October and I would rather live here that anywhere else. Your problem is, you're jealous because we have nice countryside and scenery, erm what do you have in Mill Hill???

no doubt paid for with the sweat and blood from the likes of people who live in places like mill hill
at least we have electricity

Someone lives in Mill Hill and calls the Ribble Valley a dump?!?!?!?!?

I work in the Ribble Valley and if I could afford the property prices, I would love to live there.

The Ribble Valley is the jewel in the crown for Lancashire and it's astounding how much better it is than the surrounding towns.

I just hope that the filth that have destroyed Burnley, Blackburn, Accrington etc. are never adventurous enough to venture out of their little hell holes and do the same to Clitheroe & Whalley!

I'd rather live in the Ribble Valley with no power than fester in the other s**tholes!
