Mellor Brook man on cannabis plant charges

John David Ashworth, 46, of Branch Road, Mellor Brook, elected to be dealt with at Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with being concerned in the production of 16 mature and 37 medium sized cannabis plants in a van parked at the side of his home.
Ashworth was remanded on bail for the preparation of committal papers.
