ORGANISERS of a three-day festival hope to build on the success of last year's inaugural event.
Clitheroe Festival Weekend starts on Friday afternoon and will see a host of activities and events take place over the weekend.
The third Clitheroe Beer Festival gets things goings at St Mary's Centre on Friday at 2pm and carries on for the entire weekend.
Attractions across the three days will include morris dancers, busking competition, funfair, Army aerial ropeway in the castle grounds, a railway exhibition and a medieval battle re-enactment.
The events will be taking place across the town and there will even be a skateboard competition in the skatepark on Sunday from 11am to 5pm, open to all standards of skaters.
Richard Jackson, of Clitheroe the Future, the organisation overseeing the festival, claims it will be bigger and better than ever.
He said: "We are trying to build on the success of last year and hoping it can go from strength to strength."
More information from www.clitheroethefuture.co.uk and leaflets can be picked up from Ribble Valley Council offices or the tourist information centre in Ainsworth Street, Blackburn.
