His vehicle collided with the car being driven by a 43-year-old man from Hyndburn, by the entr-ance to Read Garden Centre. Mr Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Assistant deputy cor-oner Derek Baker adjourned the inquest until September 3.
Police are appealing for anyone with information on the accident to contact them on 0845 1 25 35 45.
My husband died 10 years ago in a similar motorbike accident. At the inquest it was determined that it was simply that - an accident.
The coroner issued a warning to 'Born Again Bikers' - men of a certain age who have perhaps got money to spash out on their dream bike.
As far as justice goes, the driver of the car my husband ran into has had to live with the consequences since - and my children have had to grow up without their father.
I don't know about justice, but I do know about living with the nightmare.
