    Tributes to Scott Campbell
    CRASH: Scott Campbell
    CRASH: Scott Campbell

A GRIEVING family has paid tribute to a grandfather who died after his motorbike collided with a car.

Scott Campbell, 35, from Rishton, was treated by paramedics in Accrington Road near Read for multiple injuries.

He never regained consciousness and died at the scene.

His family have issued a statement which said: "Scott was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend.

He was much loved and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him."

Police are investigating the crash, which happened at 3.30pm on Saturday, and are appealing for witnesses.

Mr Campbell was heading towards Great Harwood on his red and white Yamaha, having travelled down the A59 and turned right at the roundabout with the A671.

His vehicle was in collision with a silver Peugeot 306 being driven by a 43-year-old man from Hyndburn, by the entrance to Read Garden Centre.

Re: Comments from "road safety officer - speed camera on"
Clearly you are not the “Road Safety Officer” that you purport to be. A professional would not make spurious claims even if they had access to the facts surrounding the accident, which you obviously do not. Nor would a professional display a patent lack of decency or compassion to the family of the man involved. You also demonstrate within your text a poor basic understanding of the English language which would also indicate you are not who or what you imagine yourself to be. My guess is that you are probably some sad little man who bears a grudge against motorcyclists, or perhaps you have intimate knowledge of the accident and are trying to deflect attention from the actual cause? Why not reveal your true identity instead of hiding behind your ill-chosen pseudonym?

On the pic, the left side of the car's crumpled in, which appears to indicate that the car, coming from the Accrington direction, travelling towards Whalley, *may * have turned right in to the garden centre in front of the bike.

Poor Scott, probably never had a chance.
