Clitheroe man dies in London bike accident

A FORMER Clitheroe resident died after being knocked off his bike in London.

Anthony Smith was killed after colliding with a tipper lorry at a road junction in Hackney.

The 36-year-old former Clitheroe Royal Grammar School student's parents live at Edisford Bridge.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, at 8.44am on Monday.

All three emergency services were called, but Mr Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
