Pupils hoped to light the way for new teachers in a live experiment aimed at encouraging people into the profession.
Children from Brabins Endowed Primary School, Chipping, formed a human chain to conduct a current via five plasma balls which when powered-up a giant neon sign displaying the words, 'Train to Teach'.
The experiment by the Training and Development Agency for Schools was staged at a recruitment event, in Manchester.
Pupils Jack, Natalie, Tom and Freddie are pictured with headteacher Glynis Goldsbrough, who said: "The children were buzzing with excitement in understanding electricity through having a live current run through them."
