Clitheroe traders’ fears parking problems will hit town

A FURTHER loss of parking in Clitheroe town centre could leave the town’s retail area desolated, a leading trader has warned.

The president of the town’s Chamber of Trade has issued a rallying call to other firms over the dangers the town faces if more parking spaces are taken away.

Nigel Pratt, who owns Clitheroe Travel, said plans for another traffic order in King Street, as well as the ongoing debate over a residents’ parking scheme in the Church Street area, were affecting town centre busin-esses.

“The addition of loading bays and timed loading and unloading areas will have an impact on the ability of customers to park near the businesses and for deliveries to those businesses,” he said.

“A proposed residents’ car parking scheme that looks certain to be put forward to Lancashire County Council could seriously damage businesses and have a knock on effect that could see it being expanded across the town and affect other retail areas.

“Residents of Church Brow and York Street are after 24- hour parking permits for their cars, plus visitor passes.

“A significant number of residents’ spaces and shared use spaces will be permanently taken for resident parking only, despite the majority of residents having some form of off-street parking.”

The chamber is urging town centre businesses to take a stand by making their views known to the council and canvassing support from their customers.

Mr Pratt has sent out a campaign letter titled “It’s Time To Wake Up”, to all town centre businesses and councillors.

When the Moor Lane parking restrictions came in the council said they were going to add extra parking spaces elsewhere, so far I have not seen a single extra space.
They will say anything to get their restrictions in and then forget about any promises they give as with all councils they don't care what the taxpayers think.

I have lived in Clitheroe for over 50 years, I have shopped in Burnley for the last 5 Years. Reason Burnley has many places to park for free, everything is within walking distance once parked I have never looked backed since and saved my self a fortune.

Hi All.

No need to fuss any longer...If you get a statute fixed penalty, don't panic...just remember we exist in this country under Common Law.

Under Coomon Law these statutes have no power unless you enter in to contract with the statute officer, and admit liability.

It is the statutes that are 'unlawful' under common law.

Here is what you do, visit the below link and scroll down to the fixed penalty information, and present a letter as given on the page to whatever company sent it too you,(with your own details), be it Lancashire Constabulary, or the companies thereof, which now owns all assets and systems in Lancashire.

What you are doing in truth is exercising your English constitutional Common law protection over a deceptive fraud.

Statute law is the British Admiralty Law,the law of the sea. Formulated for international trading as the British Empire spread.

It is not the law of the land, the elite have usurped our common law with this law of the sea, and we have accepted it.... do not enter into contract with the corporate law and it cannot touch you.

This is what made Britain the envy of the world, and the reason the US took it and enhanced it, what they also took was this same Admiralty law as their criminal court, hence the takeover. The bank of England and the Fed in the US are the bank for this statute garbage, and the reason our nation has been demolished.

YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG IN USING WHAT IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT...
