FOOD and drink retailer Booths saw an increase in sales over the Christmas period, it has revealed.
The business, with stores in Clitheroe, Longridge and Chorley, and a total of 26 shops in the North West, saw like for like sales over the festive period up by 3.9 per cent on 2007.
And bosses said December 23 was the busiest trading day in the company’s 160-year history.
Edwin Booth, chairman of Booths, said he was delighted by the results.
He said: “Despite challenging market conditions, we are pleased with the results.
“2009 will be a difficult year for a lot of businesses and we are committed to being competitive on price, whilst maintaining the quality of our offer.”
