AN ARTIST who rubs shoulders with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars is coming to the Ribble Valley for an exclusive show of his work.

American Todd White will be appearing at Art Decor, The Arches, Whalley, later this month as part of a whistle-stop tour of the UK.

Gallery owner Julie McCabe, who runs its alongside husband Chris, believes Todd’s visit is a real “coup for the area” and the business itself.

The artist, who has sold paintings to A-listers such as Sharon Stone, Vin Diesel and Michael Douglas, previously worked as a designer on cult cartoon Sponge Bob Square Pants and was even the main artist for 2007 Grammy Awards.

Julie said: “We have been selling his prints for a couple of years and his publishing company happened to approach us and ask us whether we’d be willing to have him along.

“They thought his originals would do well in our gallery and that’s how he we set up the visit.”

At the same time as the visit, Art Decor will be selling limited edition prints by the artist which will not be available to other galleries.

With originals of Todd’s work having sold for £75,000, the gallery has a limited edition print that is up for £23,500 for any enthusiastic East Lancashire collector.

Todd will be at the gallery on September 25 and his appearance there follows a recent stint on alongside Paris Hilton on the Larry King Live show in America.

Julie added: “It’s a real coup for the area to have him here and we are very excited about it.

“I think there is a real market in the Ribble Valley for his work and out customers are really looking forward to it.”

Along with the originals, several of Todd’s study sketches and a clay sculpture in bronze entitled Delicate will also be unveiled.
