A COMMUNITY group has called a public meeting in a local village to discuss plans to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
Whalley Local History Group will discuss how Whalley will mark the 100 years since the Great War armistice on November 11, 1918.
They will discuss plans to form an action group and generate a plan for events for the year.
Jean Lord, who runs the group, said: "This year armistice falls on remembrance Sunday and it would be fitting that the whole community of Whalley and surrounding villages celebrate the armistice.
"We want to remember the 65 boys and young men who gave their lives for their country in the great war."
The public meeting will be held at Whalley Primary School, on the Sands, Whalley from 7pm on Tuesday, February 7.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
