WORK is underway to manage flood risk in Whalley and Billington.
A drop-in event is to be held on October 12 to give residents, business owners and others an opportunity to hear about the work the Environment Agency is doing, the potential solutions and the timescales.
The Environment Agency is working with the Whalley and Billington Flood Action Group (FLAG) and Lancashire County Council.
Whalley and Billington were some of the worst affected areas after homes and businesses were flooded on Boxing Day 2015.
In a newsletter to residents they said they are considering building new flood defences, storing more water upstream, looking at flow diversions and using more localised defences.
They said: "The benefits that each of the options would bring were considered, along with the likelihood of being able to secure enough Government funding and required contributions to deliver them.
"This assessment is now complete and we are now ready to engage with the community on our proposals to better protect Whalley and Billington."
FLAG and the County Council will be holding the public drop-in event at the Methodist Church Hall in King Street, Whalley from 2pm to 8pm on Thursday, October 12.
