A SCOUT leader and trainee teacher admitted child pornography offences when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.

The court heard police went to Simon Teale's home in Whalley in response to information received.

They seized computer equipment which was later found to have indecent images of children of all three levels.

Teale, 50, who gave his address as Preston New Road, Blackburn, but previously lived at Abbots Croft, Whalley, pleaded guilty to making 33 category A indecent images, 62 category B images and 233 category C images.

He was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court to be sentenced.

Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said some of the images were 'fairly extreme'.

"They show penetrative sexual activity involving children as young as three and four," said Mr Robinson. "Some of the children in the photographs were clearly in some distress."

Ben Leech, defending, said it was accepted the offences would go to the crown court to be sentenced.
