BURGLARS stole £18,000 worth of goods during a raid at a farm house in rural Ribble Valley.

Raiders struck at the house and outbuildings in School Lane, Simonstone, on Saturday night.

Police said the thieves used tools to break in through a front window of the house between 7.30pm and 11.30pm.

Items stolen included electricals as well as farming equipment.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Watson said: "The offenders seem to have come prepared and have overcome all the security measures at this property to commit this burglary."

Items taken from the house include: an iPod Touch; a Cannon and a Sony digital camera; a black Wii games console with two controllers; around 30 Wii And Playstation computer games; a Playstation; Bose speakers; two Technics Turntable decks; two Pioneer Cd turntables; Pioneer mixer; a passport; a box containing personal papers; premium bonds document, log book for Saab 95 Areo; silver Imac 27 inch computer, Mac Book Pro laptop; Vestax midi-mixer; Pioneer amp; Sony digital recorder; Sienheiser headphones; two Pioneer speakers; Box Kinnect; two black Hewlett Packard laptops; Stanley toolbox and a Apple Ipad computer.

After raiding the house the burglars used boltcutters to gain access to an outbuilding.

They stole a £1,700 Ifor Williams galvanised twin wheel trailer registration 900JWX and a black Honda Cr250f motocross bike.

DS Watson urged any witnesses to come forward.
