AN investigation has been launched after a cottage caught fire in Ribchester this morning.
A fire service spokesman said a crew from Preston and Fulwood attended Fleet Street Lane at 8.10am after a hearth and the upper floor had caught fire.

He said: "Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire.
"The Urban Search and Rescue team from Chorley were called to help shore up the property.
"The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported."
