Read man to run London marathon for kidney charity
6:00pm Wednesday 11th April 2012 in Read
A READ man is going the extra mile to help people with kidney problems.
David Sagar, 38, is being sponsored to run the London Marathon to raise £2,000 for Kidney Research UK.
David’s dad, John Sagar, 67, of Wiswell, suffers from kidney disease and, without a replacement kidney, could have had to spend the rest of his life on kidney dialysis.
David has never run a marathon but has been training with Accrington Road Runners.
David, who works for R&J Building Hardware Store in Blackburn, said: “Twelve years ago my father was lucky enough to get a transplant and his life changed for the better.”
Now his kidney has failed and he is back on dialysis. To support David, visit www. kidneyresearchukevents.org/davidsagar1|www.kidneyresearchukevents.org/davidsagar1.
