Calves rescued from Ribble Valley barn fire

TEN calves had to be rescued when a barn caught fire early this morning.

Firefighters rescued the animals as they tackled a blaze at a farm in Elston Lane, Grimsargh, at around 2.15am.

On arrival, they found the barn and farmhouse well alight.

This morning, crews from Preston remained at the scene as they continued to put out the fire.
