YOUNG and old came together to celebrate World Book Day.
Pupils from Barnacre Road Primary School in Longridge visited McCarthy and Stone’s Burey Court Retirement Living development in Barnacre Road.
Pictures show the year four children dressed as their favourite book characters and performing spoken poetry to homeowners.
After the performance, the children talked to the homeowners about their favourite stories from when they were younger, sharing classic tales across the generations.
Homeowners Neil and Jean finished the day by reading stories to the class.
Sam Mosley, year four teacher at Barnacre Road Primary, said: “We are grateful to McCarthy and Stone for inviting the class along, and we hope everyone at Burey Court had a lovely time and enjoyed our costumes!”
