MYSTERY surrounds the closure of a pub in the Ribble Valley.
Councillors from the Ribble Valley and residents in Langho have been left bemused by the sudden closure of the Petre Arms Pub, on Whalley Road.
The pub's landlady moved out of the pub more than two weeks ago and it has been shut ever since.
Cllr Ged Mirfin, who represents the ward, said residents have now had to go to pubs in Whalley and Billington.
He said: "The big question everyone has been asking is when will the Petre Arms reopen?
"Everyone is firmly convinced it will stay shut.
"It's unusual for a pub to closed for so long
"My view is that they want to sell it but I could be wrong."
Samuel Smith, the pub chain based in North Yorkshire that owns the Petre Arms, were unavailable to comment.
