STAFF and patients at the Kemple View mental health facility in Langho will be getting their trainers on for Sports Relief this weekend.

They will be taking part in runs, walks and cycle rides as well as on-site activities for those who need to remain within the hospital grounds. Staff will also be cycling down from a sister-facility in Scotland to pay a visit.

Mike Bennett, regional executive director of Partnerships in Care, which runs the Kemple View, said: “I am delighted by all our teams’ commitment to what is a fantastic national fund raising event.

“By the staff and patients working in partnership we have produced a number of very positive initiatives which I hope will raise lots of money but also awareness of the good active engagement in sport can be.”

Other non-sports related fundraising activities will include cake baking, dress-down days and other sponsored events. The company hopes to raise more than £2,500 across its sites.
