A CHILDMINDER has been praised for offering a good standard of care.

Ofsted inspectors said young children cared for by Langho childminder Emma Jane Coward were being well prepared for school and nursery.

The childminder, who cares for children at the home she shares with with her partner and two children, was said to offer effective play and learning experiences.

Ofsted inspector Linda Shore said: “Children make good progress in their speaking skills. The childminder values and listens to them, giving them many reasons to talk, for example, commentating on things they are doing.

“Mathematical concepts are woven into everyday activities and consequently, children have a broad knowledge of shape, size and number.”

The inspector praised learning which took place as children cared for flowers and grew tomatoes.

She said: “Children explore the outdoor digging area and look for mini beasts in the bug hotel. This is an ongoing interest and children continue to show curiosity as they investigate.
