A GRANDMOTHER has gone back to the classroom to do an advanced apprenticeship in customer care.

Diane Riley, of Langho, said she was now looking for other opportunities to enhance her career with training provider Intraining in her work for a firm which specialises in limb prosthestics and mobility aids.

The 50-year-old said: “I have worked for Ossur UK, which is based in Manchester, for 22 years and was originally asked if I would like to do a customer care NVQ.

“I was totally taken by surprise and was petrified.

“I'm not very confident and have never been academically great, so felt very hesitant.

“But once I got into it, I loved it. I realised it was all related to my job and that I knew more than I thought.”

Diane went on to complete the advanced apprenticeship in customer care.

Annika Swinn, Ossur UK's customer care manager, said: “The NVQ training has made a huge difference to the business because it has given all of our staff confidence in their ability and has given them confidence to question things more.”
