A GISBURN receptionist is in the running for the title of Britain’s Top Model 2011.

Sophie Hornby, who has never modelled before has made it to the final 25 of the hotly-contested model contest.

The former pupil of Bowland High School, Grindleton, said she needs the support of well-wishers in the Ribble Valley to ensure she gets down to the final two.

Sophie, who also attended Gisburn Primary School and is currently working as a receptionist at the Three Rivers Caravan Park, West Bradford, said: “I took part in a photoshoot at The Clothes Show in Birmingham and was delighted when I was short-listed down to the final 500 of a teen queen competition.

“However, because I turned 20, I was then entered for the British Top Model 2011 contest and had to have another photoshoot in London.

“I am over the moon to be selected for the final 25. It’s a major confidence boost and I really want to go ahead and reach the finals and consider modelling as one of my career options.”

The live national final of British Top Model will be held in London in October, however, voting lines close in May.
