Overnight closures planned on the A59 near Clitheroe
1:55pm Tuesday 3rd July 2012 in Clitheroe
DIVERSIONS will be put in place while the A59, near Clitheroe, is closed for resurfacing work.
The road will be shut from 7pm to 7am every night from Wednesday until July 22, from the junction with the A671 Whalley Road, at Pendleton, to its junction with the A671 Pimlico Link Road.
Access to Pendleton and The Wellsprings restaurant will be kept open throughout, and a 30mph speed limit will be force.
A further diversion will be in place from Sabden as traffic will not be able to access the A59 via Clitheroe Road.
Daniel Herbert, highways manager for East Lancashire, said: “We’re carrying out this essential work overnight to minimise disruption. The diversion will mean other roads nearby will be much quieter than usual and we’ll be using it as an opportunity to carry out more minor works on these roads to avoid more disruption in future.”
