Crews from Clitheroe were called to the blaze in Sawley Old Brow, Sawley, at around 2.20am today.
The blaze caused 'severe' fire damage to a quantity of laundry at the 'commercial' building.
There was also some smoke damage to the room and three other rooms.
Nobody was injured but nine residents were moved to a safe part of the building as a precaution.
A fire service spokesman said: "Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service received a call stating a laundry room at a residential home was on fire.
"Carers at the home moved nine residents to a safe part of the building as a precaution but no one was injured.
"Two fire engines from Clitheroe attended and used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel and two ventilation units to extinguish the fire and clear the property of smoke. "
