A LEAK has left homes without water for the second time in a week.
United Utilities confirmed the leak on Painter Crescent had been spotted and reported to them at around 8:45 this morning.
A spokesperson for the company said: "Our inspector has been to have a look and found a leak to be the cause for some of you having no water or just a trickle.
"A team of engineers has been requested to attend and should be on site as soon as possible. We’re sorry for the trouble this may be causing you and we will get your taps flowing normally again as quickly as we can."
Councillor Ged Mirfin who lives in the area said it is a 'disgrace' that residents in the area have to experience not having any water again for the second time in a week.
He said: "Just last week they had to dig up the road to fix the pipe. The road was closed for days after and a diversion was in place.
"Now, the same problem has occurred again and they have to dig up the same road.
"United Utilities have to have a much great engagement with the Borough Council and people living in the area."
At 1:36 this afternoon, United Utilities confirmed that engineers are still on site and repairs will continue throughout the course of the day.
