A CLITHEROE man threw a stone through a friend's flat window after drinking heavily.
Blackburn magistrates heard Kyle Stuart Turner had gone on a bender after receiving news that his grandfather had passed away.
Turner, 23, of Lime Street, pleaded guilty to causing £300 worth of damage to a double glazed window. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £300 compensation.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said the flat was owned by the local authority and the occupant had contacted police to report the incident but did not make a statement.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client had drunk far too much after learning of his grandfather's death.
"He and his friend, who lives in the flat, had a bit of a drunken row and he accepts throwing the stone at the window," said Mr Taylor.
