LANCASHIRE County Council is looking to recruit local Authority School Governors.
The council said they are looking to recruit people from a diverse range of backgrounds with a wide range of experience to undertake the key role.
County Councillor Phillippa Williamson, Chair of Lancashire's Governors Panel, said: "Becoming a governor is a great way to contribute to your local community and improve the lives of local children.
"You don't need specialist knowledge or educational expertise, governing bodies need a range of people who can bring the skills and experience they've developed at work, or in voluntary roles in the community.
"School governors have a pivotal role in setting ambitious standards, holding headteachers to account and ensuring money is well spent. Stronger governing bodies drive aspiration in schools and help young people get on in life. "
