TWO people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Clitheroe this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the two-car crash on the A59 at the junction with Pendle Road after reports two people were trapped.
A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We got a call at 12.30pm and we sent a rapid response team and two ambulances.
"Two patients with possible back injuries were taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital."
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesman said they had rescued a woman who was trapped.
“It involved two cars and two people were trapped initially – a man and a woman," he said.
Two fire engines from Hyndburn and Clitheroe were sent to the scene.
