Jubilee revellers have a field day in Ribchester

A MAGNIFICENT firework finale marked the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at Ribchester Field Day this weekend.
The fireworks followed an evening ceilidh in a marquee on the recreation ground, with music by The Old School Band.
Guests celebrated into Saturday evening after a fun-packed day at the the 52nd annual event. The Field Day o began with the traditional parade from Bee Mill, which included live music from bands, groups in fancy dress, and decorated vehicles.
At the field, the main act was comedy duo What a Palaver, alongside morris dancing, children’s races, stalls and game.
Field Day Queen Katy Hinkley, was attended by Alice Pitman, Hannah Porter and page boy Joseph Holgate.
She was crowned by retiring queen Isobel Sutcliffe, attended by Jemima Green, Ruby Holgate, Sarah Holgate, Nell Johnson, Daisy Sweeten-Warren, Tiania Riding and Minnie Maguire and page-boy William McCartney-Pye.
The event was followed yesterday with a specially themed vintage tea party on the recreation ground with live music from group Quay Change. Children’s entertainer Mr Jolly amused youngsters.
