Clitheroe golfer airlifted to hospital

A GOLFER in his 70s was taken to hospital by air ambulance after suffering chest pains.

The man, who was visiting Clitheroe Golf Club with other members from Whitefield, had completed his round when he complained of a tight chest.

He had suffered a heart attack in the past and complained of similar pains, which were getting worse.

The North West Air Ambulance was called and landed on the rough, near to the 18th hole, at the Whalley Road club on Monday afternoon.

The man was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Do we really need to know the helicopter landed in the rough near to the eighteenth green?

It would be nice for you to ask how the guy went with his trauma instead of worrying about the "Rough" at Citheroe Golf Club!
Mind you, I was once playing golf in Australia when one of the group in front of us collapsed. No one would leave their group as each group caught up with those in front. They sent one of the gardeners to the club house to get help and the tournament carried on!
I found out later that the match was being played by the West Australian Ambulance Service! Very caring! Probably scared of getting pealised for Slow Play!
