MORE than 100 children of BAE Systems Military Aircraft division staff got a glimpse of the parent's working life this week.
The 112 teenagers spent a shift at the company's Samlesbury and Warton factories as part of the firm's annual ‘Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day’ .
At Warton, the 14 to 16-year-olds toured aircraft manufacturing hangars, whilst the Samlesbury event was at its new £15million Academy for Skills and Knowledge.
Richard Hamer, BAE Systems, education director, said: “We invest around £90m every year in early careers, skills development and education.
“As a company, we have great ambitions and a big part of that is ensuring we build a strong pipeline of future talent. Events like today provide an opportunity for young people to understand more about our business.”
