THE Northern Powerhouse minister set out his vision for Lancashire during a dinner in Ribble Valley.

Rossendale and Darwen MP Jake Berry was invited to an evening meal with the Ribble Valley Conservative Party as a special guest at Stanley House in Mellor.

Around 60 people from the Ribble Valley branch attended the meal, including local MP Nigel Evans and Ribble Valley Council's leader Ken Hind.

During the meal, Mr Berry gave a 'pro Lancashire' speech outlining some of his key policies as Northern Powerhouse minister and how it would benefit the people in Lancashire.

The local MP focused on his talk on transport and the works which are being undertaken to improve the county's transport system as well as the projected HS2 system.

After the dinner, Mr Berry said: "It was an extremely good event with Nigel and other leading people in the area.

"I told the guests what the Northern Powerhouse will mean for people in Lancashire and how Ribble Valley and East Lancashire are at the heart of it."
